In to Kill a Mockingbird Negros are constantly and subtly referred to as mockingbirds. Mockingbirds would never wrong us and all they do is sing their hearts out for us, how could we possibly think of wronging them. White people on the other hand are like pigeons, they pester and beg; they cheat and wrong one other without a second thought. Harper Lee has used this comparison to show how wrong it truly is to hurt someone who would never hurt you or anyone else.
